FemCities - women's network

 International
co-operation of women:
- the network was initiated in Vienna in 1997 as
part of the INTERREG II Project,
- the network involves Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary
and Slovakia,
- other countries are expected to become involved by grade
(Croatia, Poland, Slovenia),
Goals:
- local, regional and cross-border co-operation on women's
issues,
- exchange of experience and transfer of know-how among
women in the area of politics, public administration,
NGOs, research and education,
- implementation of projects in the sphere of local and
regional women's policies among member and candidate EU
countries.
Areas of
co-operation:
- creating a network of contacts among experts in selected
fields in all participating countries,
- building a common information system on the internet,
- co-operation between partners and institutions on
organising workshops, launching projects, etc.
Topics:
- politics and public administration,
- labour market and skills,
- economy and technology,
- physical integrity and safety,
- EU, cross-border co-operation,
- representation of Brno in the Steering Committee.
